Event Agenda

13 - 25
JAN - FEB

In conjunction with the NAFA Open House, two distinct showcases, Flagship Genius and Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám (Temple of Literature), demonstrate the creative potential of interdisciplinary artmaking within the academy. This double-bill exhibition showcases a panorama of talent in artmaking from NAFA’s Faculty of Art & Design as well as the outcomes of over 200 students who participated in the academy-wide project using the Temple of Literature, Hanoi, as a creative stimulus and subject matter. Jointly managed and programmed by the Institute of Southeast Asian Arts and the academic schools at NAFA, students were involved in a 3-day workshop where they were introduced to not only the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam but also traditional architecture and artistic practices.

Closed every Monday.

JAN

Directed by Edith Podesta and choreographed by Yarra Ileto, Thom Pain (based on nothing) is performed by students from NAFA’s Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Performance Making programme.

Will Eno's Pulitzer prize-nominated play depicts one ordinary man’s extraordinary search through the wreckage of his life. Filled with biting humour, desire, and lost innocence, it delves deep into the human experience of loneliness and the intrinsic yearning for connection. Eno's work prompts contemplation on authentic human bonds, empathy, and self-discovery. Through a rich tapestry of the human condition, the audience is invited to explore the shadow realms of isolation, vulnerability, and the relentless pursuit of significance.
